How this differs from writing a script
AI phone control hands repetitive actions to a model in ordinary language. The model first understands what you said, then taps, swipes, and types by reading the screen. Say “list these products” and it opens the app, finds the entry, fills each item, and submits. The result is the same as doing it by hand, and nobody has to sit in front of the screen.
A lot of people first meet phone automation through scripts. A script means writing code, or recording the actions once. Hearing “AI phone automation” or “AI phone control”, it is easy to take them for a different kind of product. Both sides handle the same kind of repeated action. The difference is whether you have to write each step as code first.
| Dimension | Traditional scripts | AI phone control |
|---|---|---|
| Getting started | Write code or record the actions | One sentence is enough to assign the task |
| Interface changes | An app redesign can break the script | It acts on what is on the screen, so redesigns bother it less |
| Where it fits | Fixed flows, step by step | It understands the intention and adjusts as it goes |
| Maintenance | High, because you follow the interface | Low, because the AI does the reading |
A run is usually three steps.
- Look at the screen first. Use OCR to read the text, then grab the interface nodes, and confirm what is on the current page.
- Split that sentence into a plan: which app to open, where to tap, what to fill in, and which step counts as done.
- Tap, swipe, and type on a real phone. Check the screen feedback at each step, and send the result back when it is finished.
What it can do, and who it suits
Once the copy and the assets are ready, they can be posted in batch to short-video platforms. On the ecommerce side, listing products, changing prices, and syncing inventory are the common jobs. Testing can hand smoke tests and regression tests to it. In support, common questions can be answered automatically, and complex ones still go to a person.
Daily publishing and stocking for operations and ecommerce teams are a reasonable first thing to hand over. When a studio has a lot of phones, the same instruction can go to a group of devices. Developers can connect a phone into an existing AI workflow through MCP, so an assistant operates the device directly.
Open-source projects and commercial products both exist. If you want it free, able to connect Android, iOS, and HarmonyOS, and installed on your own computer, look at iEasyRun (free phone automation software). Data stays on the machine, with no extra server, and MCP integration is supported. Installation is on the deployment page.
Repeated actions can be packed into one sentence. When the interface changes, the script can stay as it is. Try one phone first.
